Ending My Hult Journey with a BANG!

And Just Like that…It’s Over!

Reminiscing a fantastic year

To think it was this time last year I was packing my stuff, moving to Boston and completing my first immersion class. Now I've graduated with a Masters in International Marketing and working hard to find a job to pay bills...haha. It seems so surreal.

My Hult journey has been one the most amazing and teachable years of my life. Not only have I grown as a young professional but as an overall person.  I’ve gained so much confidence in myself, believing in my strengths and understanding my weaknesses. Well here is a look back on all of the magical and not so magical Hult moments and I wouldn't change a thing.

A Hult Review

As I return from graduate school I get the same question from many people, “Was Hult worth it?” It’s a bit of a loaded question but I understand where the curiosity comes from. Graduate school isn’t cheap, especially when you make the decision to invest heavily in a school that is anything but conventional. But I think that question and answer doesn’t fit in the “one size fits all” category. The simple answer is yes, FOR ME, RIGHT NOW Hult was worth it. One year ago I was living in a world where a bachelors degree just wasn’t cutting it, I needed more and I needed it fast. I also was looking for something that wasn’t traditional and spoke to my international interest and Hult was the perfect fit. Looking back, of course, there are somethings Hult and myself could have done better, everything to career and financial help, the types of courses offered and just overall planning, but I’m happy with the decision I made. (I'll check back in with you in a couple of years and when I've landed that dream job to give you an updated opinion...haha)

Favorite Memories

“I have learned that friendship isn't about who you've known the longest, it's about who came and never left your side.”

Not So Favorite Memories

There's a good chunk of my Hult year that doesn’t have photos or happy memories. Living completely on my own came with isolation on top of the added stress of my academics, the uncertainty of my future and managing finances which retriggered my anxiety and depression and really affected my overall mental health pretty badly. It’s not something I just scream out to the world, but as I’ve become older I'm much more open to discussing it and I understand how important it is to take care of your mind just as much as your body. Thanks to a Hult service I rediscovered therapy and my love for just talking to a neutral person. Someone who is not there to judge me but listen and reassure me that I’m not going crazy. I felt so much better afterward, almost lighter.

Hult Prize 2018

United Nations, New York

To end this amazing year I was lucky enough to be chosen to represent Hult at the United Nations in New York City as a Hult Global Ambassador for the Hult Prize 2018! I was going to be in a room with some amazing students and leaders as the pitched their ideas on how to harness the power of energy to transform the world.
